Location

Sinah Beach is located on the western side of Hayling Island. The island is accessed by a bridge, which offers visitors picturesque views over the sea with numerous boats moored in its waters.

History

Monks first settled in the Sinah in the 15th century, but were displaced in the 16th century when the rights were sold to the Duke of Norfolk. A fishing community grew during the 1800s.

During the Second World War, Hayling Island served as a military base that was crucial in defending the Portsmouth region as well as preparing for the D-Day operations. When visiting the island, you will find lots of remaining battlements.
