Stoke Park has something for people of all ages and abilities. With playgrounds, minigolf and paddling pools, this is a great place to visit for young families. The rose garden, as well as a quiet Japanese style garden/pond are enjoyable for people of all ages. During the summer, Stoke Park is busy with lots of visitors, but outside of peak holidays, it tends to be a quiet and peaceful place.

Parking & when to Visit

The car park, primarily used by Guildford College, is free to use outside of college hours.


Times you can visit are:

  • Weekdays after 6pm

  • All day weekends and college holidays


There are two disabled parking spaces at the end nearest the college.


Accessibility

Stoke Park is accessible for people of all physical abilities. The paths around the park are smooth and only have very minor slopes, making them suitable for wheelchair users. There are plenty of places to stop and rest, with benches located all around the park.


On the left as you enter from the car park, you will see a picnic area as well as a decorative fountain, there are plenty of places to sit here. Further along the path, you will pass the kids paddling pool, and then reach the gardens. The paths here are smooth, on a very minor slope. There are plenty of benches along the path and around the pond. Adjacent to the pond, there is a small café and the rose garden. The gardens are level, but there is only a grass path, so it could be more difficult for some wheelchair users (pictured below).


Conclusion

Overall, Stoke Park is a great place to visit for people with health conditions such as POTS, with plenty of places to stop and rest. There's plenty of space and level paths, making it accessible for wheelchair and mobility scooter users too. With it's award-winning gardens, there is something for everyone at Stoke Park.
